How to build a successful work-from-home culture?

It's been a year since we all started working from home. Remote work setup opens a lot of challenges to every organization. Whether it is connectivity issues, hearing kids playing from your colleagues during the meeting, looking for an area to make you focus at work, mental health stability due to this global pandemic, and more.

The struggle is real as many of us say, but this is the new normal, this is normal and we have to adapt to it.

So, how can we fix these gaps and build a better culture for the employees while we are all separated by a screen, here are some tips:

  1. Communication is the key to keep us all connected. Set a video meeting at least once a week to catch up on what's the latest for everyone from the team, check how they are doing.

  2. Arrange team-building activities every month. Think of unique and fun online activities that everyone can participate in. It can be online quiz games, sharing music, or meditation activities.

  3. Allow employees to take a rest once in a while. Being on your laptop and working for so many hours is so exhausting. Give them time to breathe and relax, it is a great practice for them to have stable mental health.

  4. Know your responsibilities. Working remotely does not mean that you can just watch TV and just start to work when you receive emails or calls. Have a to-do list. Make it as your guide to deliver all your tasks within the day. If you have less work for the day, check on your colleagues, ask how they are doing and if they need help. Don't lose the teamwork and collaborations even if we all work virtually.

  5. Keep yourself healthy! Find time to exercise. Getting healthy and fit helps you to be more productive and enables you to keep away from getting sick. It also helps you have a healthier and stronger body and mind.

Times are tough, we encourage everyone to stay connected and continue to build a great working relationship during these times. Let's help each other build a healthy remote working culture because this would help us be more motivated and productive in our jobs.

Stay safe and healthy everyone!
